The book “Comprehensive Approach to Infections in Dermatology” is well designed, with skin infections grouped under 8 sections and 20 chapters. The lucid language used in the book, along with abstracts at the beginning and key notes at the end of each chapter give a good outline of the conditions described. An elaborative yet precise text used for clinical description of infections of the skin along with high-quality clinical photographs makes this book interesting to read.
The book deals with the diagnosis and treatment of common skin infections seen in day-to-day practice as well as rare and infrequent infections. On the whole, this book delivers a strong platform to learn or know about all the possible cutaneous infective conditions. The content being comprehensive yet concise, it can prove to be a very useful and easy to access tool, delivering the required information for one and all.
Considering the rate of cutaneous infections prevalent in the Indian setting, a thorough and in-depth knowledge of this group of diseases is essential, and this purpose is very well-served by this illustrative book. Going through the pages made me realize that this book will be quite helpful for the practicing physicians, pediatricians, clinicians, and dermatology postgraduates alike.
In the era of esthetic dermatology, the idea of penning down this title in itself requires a lot of courage. I congratulate the editors and all the contributors of this book.
