An article so close to the reality. In this era of smart phones,I find, the sciences which are visual ,like dermatology have lots of scope of expending. Situated in a border area, where going abroad is a passion ( where dermatologists and their services come at a huge price in terms of time and money), I observe a phenomenal increase in patients seeking advise through remote control of telemedicine. At our centre, where we see around twelve thousand new patient a year ,last year I used this technique for about six hundred patients. This number over the years has been on the increase. Patients visit India and show us for the first time and then till their next visit follow ups are through Skype,FaceTime and emails.in case they want medicines, they get either through another visiting friend/ relative or through the GP there, who oblige them by copying your prescription. The fees , we usually get through relatives or bank transfers.
