It is with great pleasure that we bring to you the second issue of this fledgling journal that was born last year. It has been a fascinating journey for all of us involved in it to witness the heartwarmingly steady flow of articles, the whole process starting with the first look at the article, inviting and choosing reviewers, reviewing, informing the authors about the changes, instructing them regarding corrections and generally playing ping pong between the authors, ourselves, reviewers and publishers! It has become an immensely interesting, even if tiring, game which we have started enjoying!

I want to use this platform today to thank all the authors who have chosen to publish in this journal. I want to thank all those who were kind enough to submit their articles but were not successful in getting them accepted. I thank them for their patience and understanding. There have been the occasional technical snag and the small mistakes on our part too owing to the infancy of this project. For those who submitted without success, our advice is to keep writing and submitting. Even if clichéd, 'practice makes perfect' is a phrase that is so true in this context. We have been very happy to see so many young people submit their articles. This was one of the aims of the journal and we are happy that they are being realized slowly. I repeat what I said in the first editorial, the more we publish the more we will be visible. Indian dermatology is a precious gem waiting to be discovered by many. When it does it is bound to dazzle all who behold it. IDOJ appears to be an ideal platform to write studies, individual experiences, rare cases and musings. It is not difficult to gain entry into the journal as we are deliberately more lenient than many other journals worldwide. The raison d'être of the journal is to get our own people to write more, share more and showcase our enviable dermatological clinical material to the world.

I, on behalf of the entire editorial team, thank you all once again for your support and interest. We look forward to more contributions from you. Do come forward and share your work. Share with us the relatively informal temperament of the journal, its relatively easy access and help increase the readership too. And last but not the least we thank the current national executive as well as the team of last year for their very helpful, proactive and more than anything else, a genuinely encouraging attitude without which this would have been a much more difficult task.
